‘Tools for Teachers’, the AET’s invaluable resource for teachers working with pupils with autism, is now available to purchase in hard copy. Launched last year as an online resource, Tools for Teachers brings together over 70 autism-specific materials and simplifies some of the terminology surrounding autism. It features tried and tested resources, each with a description of how to use it and why it works.
The resource pack, along with the accompanying ‘How to’ DVD and interactive tools, is priced at £195 but is now available for the special introductory price of £175 for a limited time.

According to recent studies the current prevalence for children on the autism spectrum stands at about 1 in 100 which equates to just under 134,000 children in the UK. This means that if you are not already teaching a child on the autism spectrum you are very likely to do so at some point in your career. As such it is important to have an awareness of autism spectrum disorders and how to implement strategies to enable children on the spectrum to access all aspects of school life and to reach their full potential.
We have worked closely with a number of schools who kindly agreed to share their tried and tested resources to bring you a collection of tools which will be invaluable in the classroom. Each tool has a description of how to use it and why it works!
